About the course
The course is designed to acquaint the student with the rational of the creation of Pakistan. It deals in detail with the salient aspects of Pakistan Movement, focusing on the vision of Quaid-e-Azam, while highlighting the main objective of national life. This course also seeks to provide an appreciation and understanding of the cultural, historical and socio-political heritage of Pakistan; along with the main strands of Pakistan’s foreign policy and current affairs are also included. Course Pakistan Studies is a 3 credit hours course, comprising 3 hours of teaching per week.
Syllabus
Course Objectives
- Acquaint the students with the meaning and significance of Pakistan Studies as a compulsory subject.
- To develop the qualities of patriot Pakistani for understanding and fulfilling their duties and responsibilities.
- To develop the sense of belongingness to their motherland.
- To develop strong fain in the basic concepts of Pakistan’s ideology and introduction of Pakistan’s historical background.
- To sanitize students about the understanding of Pakistan’s geographical and strategic importance of South Asia.
- To promote the knowledge of the importance of Pakistani culture and civilization.
- To aware new generation about the current affairs and important pillars of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
Course Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing this course, the students will be able to:
- Understand the basic issues, principles and policies related to governmental structure and political/administrative system in the country.
- Share the importance, working issues and solutions of agricultural sector and industrial sector.
- Understand the importance of ideology, national identity, historical background, culture, civilization and foreign policy of Pakistan in this era of globalization at national and international level.
