About the course
Ideology and Constitution of Pakistan will be offered as a hybrid course in CUI Undergraduate programs. The course is designed to acquaint the student with the rationale of the Ideology of Pakistan. It deals in detail with the salient aspects of Pakistan Movement, focusing on the vision of Quaid-e-Azam. It also familiarizes students with the core provisions of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan concerning the fundamental rights and responsibilities of Pakistani citizens. Through comprehensive analysis of historical events and leadership roles, students will develop a nuanced perspective on the complex interplay between political and military influences.
Syllabus
Course Objectives
- Acquaint the students with the meaning and significance of the Ideology and constitution of Pakistan as a compulsory subject.
- To develop the qualities of patriotic Pakistanis for understanding and fulfilling their duties and responsibilities.
- To develop a sense of belongingness to their motherland and a strong faith in the basic concepts of Pakistan’s ideology and introduction of Pakistan’s historical background.
- To create awareness about the Constitutional Developments in Pakistan.
- To promote the knowledge of the importance of Pakistani culture and civilization.
- To make the new generation aware of current affairs and important pillars of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
Teachings and Learning Strategies
- Lectures provide an introduction to the ideas and learning materials. Participation from the students is encouraged.
- Educational movies and clips will be incorporated into the module to facilitate understanding.
- There will be ungraded quizzes within the delivery to ensure learning is achieved.
Course Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing this course, the students will be able to:
- Understand the basic issues, principles, and policies related to the Constitution, governmental structure, and political/administrative system in the country. (A1-PLO6)
- Understand the importance of ideology, national identity, historical background, culture, civilization, and foreign policy of Pakistan in this era of globalization at national and international levels. (A1-PLO6)
